Mr. MacDonald was an avid lover of books, writing, and poetry. With a BA and MA in English from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland he traveled to Canada and finally settled in the United States in the late fifties. His life cut short at age 49 from complications with rheumatoid arthritis, he left behind a novel based loosely on the amputation of his right foot, short stories, and poetry, such as the one written here for his wife.
